To encourage the practice of wellness, this is a guest series featuring different individuals with different personalities here on the blog.
Inculcating wellness practices and making our well-being a necessity rather than a luxury or fad is a guaranteed way to thrive rather than just exist. By reading from and relating to others, it’s my hope that we’re encouraged to practice habits that serve our well-being no matter how little. Not forgetting that the body keeps the score.
In this episode with Sally, a bestselling, award-winning Author, Screenwriter, and Blogger at Moskedapages, she shares her daily non-negotiables to optimise her well-being. It’s no wonder that writing is also one of her recovery resources when stressed 😃

“Without rest, my brain can’t function properly.”
–Sally
Q: Hi, Sally. It’s so nice to have you here. Let’s go straight into it. As a writer, rain or shine, what are your daily nonnegotiables to optimise your well-being?
A: Sleep. Without rest, my brain can’t function properly.
Music. It’s a high. I don’t think any drug can give me that buzz.
Q: Do you consider yourself to be strongly or weakly affected by the happenings in Nigeria? I ask this because some people have managed to create a bubble for themselves mainly to preserve their mental health.
A: Sometimes, it gets to me. Many times, in fact. But once I realize it’s happening, I switch so easily to become unbothered. It shocks me all the time. However, long stretches of staying in a bubble is not a good thing because once the bubble pops, I break down. It’s that whole thing of what am I still doing in this place? Am I not trying enough to get a better life?
Q: If you’re not so affected, then what are some of your stressors? I reckon many are probably still linked to the situation of the country
A: 1. When I’m broke.
2. The heavy load of responsibilities. I just want to be babied, please.
3. Missed deadlines due to (2) above.
4. Not enough rest and sleep.
Q: How do you manage or implement your recovery resources when stressed?
A: 1. Rest
2. Hanging out with friends
3. Writing
4. Time with my kids
Q: What do you consider to be wellness?
A: Soft life and mental health management
Q: Would you really say that you’re committed to your wellness practices?
A: Sometimes.
Q: I appreciate your responses so far, what would you like to leave us with?
A: Just love, light, and soft life.
